A social group for teenagers (14.5yrs - 18 yrs old) on the Lower North Shore which meets every week. We do many different interesting activities, such as sailing, motor boating, hiking, canyoning, caving, abseiling and liloing (floating down rivers)
1st Sailors Bay Venturers 15 current youth members and is a section of the 1st Sailors Bay Sea Scout group which currently has 100 youth members and leaders. The groups operate from the Scout Hall next to Sailors Bay Creek and the modern boat shed on Sailors Bay/Middle Harbour. The Venturer group has regular meetings during school terms at the boat shed for both male and female teenager. The Venturer section of scouts is for teenagers in the age bracket of 14.5yrs to 18 yrs. The Venturer group meets on Saturday afternoon's from 1pm to 5pm.
The group does many activities, the majority of which are out in the bush or on the water. We also join up with other groups to participate in activities such a Dragon Skin, a hiking and activity competition between Venturer groups from all over the State as well as interstate teams. These activities are a great way to challenge yourself physically, make friends, discover things you didn't know about yourself and learn many life skills which are useful in the work place such as leadership and team work.
